Comfortable, with a relaxing garden, fantastic views and well equipped, all make this the perfect base for exploring Somerset.
About the cottage
Part of a traditional 1820s farmhouse, this comfortable cottage has loads of character, with original flagstone floor through the ground floor and lots of original features. Recently fully refurbished, it has modern central heating, comfortable bathroom and up-to-date electrics.
Enter down a few steps into a modern and well equipped kitchen. With original floors, a pine table and chairs, the kitchen, with its own herb garden right outside the door, is perfect for preparing old favourites and enjoying Somerset’s great food. The kitchen leads to the lounge, which has a wood burner for really cosy evenings. Here you can snuggle up on the comfy sofa and watch your favourite programmes on the TV, read a good book, or use the card table for family games or jigsaws.
Between the kitchen and sitting room, there is a traditional larder with a microwave and masses of additional storage, plus roomy store cupboard for boots and coats. Upstairs there two roomy and well-appointed bedrooms, a double and a twin room with desk and working space. There is a contemporary and airy bathroom with a shower and WC.
Outside from the front door and up several stone steps is the parking area to the side of the lane. To the left, there is a private garden which boasts far-reaching views over the Somerset Levels and to Glastonbury Tor. Sit at the garden table, which is a perfect spot to enjoy a BBQ, or just relax and enjoy a glass of wine or cider. Adjoining the cottage is a storage room where you are welcome to keep your bikes. There is a wash-down area for bikes, and a washing machine available in the laundry room.

Gemma, 19th November 2021 – We had a superb stay! The cottage is well situated for Glastonbury, Wells, Cheddar and Street which was perfect for us. Lovely bedrooms with good sized beds (we were a party of 4 adults). Well equipped kitchen so cooking dinners was easy. Plenty of parking (we had 2 small cars) and the addition of having a garden was wonderful. We were lucky enough to have sunny autumnal days which made coming home to a warm cottage blissful. Our hosts were very kind to us with the tasty welcome pack!
